Came across an 04 Bowtech catalog

Thank you for the walk down memory lane. One can tend to forget some of the great bows from over the years. The Patriot was definitely one of my favorite shooters. Diamond had a similar bow in their lineup for the first two years but not this year. The Black Ice is doing a very nice job though of filling in that niche.

You all make me feel good that I bought, still own and will not sell my '05 Patriot.
I had been wanting the Patriot for a couple of years but didn't really want to put out the money for a new hunting bow until early last year when my Bowtech dealer had a new '05 at reduced price. I absolutely love it! Maybe I am biased but its still the best looking Bowtech IMO, though some of the newer models will outperform it speedwise. I may buy another bow for general shooting and 3D this year, but my Patriot will be in the woods again this coming season.

Atlas,
Just wondering, what were you battling over?
Speed, balance/feel/hold, vibration, etc?
That is pretty sweet an '03 is that much of a performer it is keeping up with the new ones.

I have come to the conclusion that my next bow is going to have to be for fun.

I currently shoot a 60# '04 Pro 40 dually.. and at 29" this thing will shoot a 305gr arrow at 314fps.. and 278fps with my hunting setup.
That's faster than most 70# bows on the current market. Until someone comes out with something better... I'll stick with the Pro40.. might get some 70# limbs for her some day.. but I don't know if I really see the need.
My favorite bow I ever owned was my '03 Patriot dually at 70#... it would shoot a 400gr arrow at 300fps... and was just a joy to shoot. But someone decided that they needed it worse than I did...
