How does the judge not issue a warrant?

A warrant was probably not issued as the judge/county attorney did not want to go through the hassle of a potential trial.

Great to hear you got your stuff back.

I don't understand why the PD would not try and obtain a warrant. I have a pretty good grasp on the system and it sounds like you have plenty to get one. When one starts stealing passports in this day and age it becomes a federal issue. I would check into it.

I am a Police Officer myself and don't understand why they couldn't get a warrant. They probably could have gotten the name and address of the phone number just by calling the local telephone providers. Warrants are not very hard to get either. The reporting officer has to write the warrant request and ask a judge to sign it. It takes a couple hours to do the paperwork, so I am guessing that the officer was just being lazy. The crime is grand theft, burglary, and intentional damage to propertywith both two being felonies in my state. I would think that would be a major enough crime to have something done. Bad cop I'm thinking.

Glad to here you got your stuff back. I suppose if they aredumb enough to call your place from there location, there probably is (was) finger prints all over your stuff. Like mention before, if they have SS number, credit card numbers....be on the look out. If you live off base then they may have your home address, but I wouldn't think they would bother you there nowing you carrry a 45.
Good luck!
