I have been bowhunting for 18 years and I have never had the problem I am now having. I used to have a Pro Line Point Blank with a long axle to axle(36). I recently changed to the Hoyt Cybertec, and although my field practice at distances up to 30 yards is right on - 2 inch groups at 20 yards - I missed my first and second shots with the bow this season. After I missed the second try yesterday, I took a practice shot into a huge birch - this was after the deer were gone, of course - and, at 20 yards the shot was off by 2 feet. I couldn't believe it, so I took a second shot, and the same exact thing happened - my arrow was within inches of my 1st shot. WHAT'S GOING ON????!!! I have racked my brain to figure this out. I even went home and shot, just to make sure, and the bow is right on? I have come to the conclusion that it must be my clothes. I figure the string must be hitting either my jacket sleeve or the chest area of my jacket. Have any of you ever experienced this? Is there maybe a different explanation? I've got to figure this out by the weekend, before my next hunt!

I would spend some time shooting adding one article of clothing at a time till you figure out which itme or items is causing the problem and then focus on what the specific issue is and see if you can't modify the clothing to fix it or at least get it close. And then just sight in for small differences with the exact clothing you'll be using on stand.

Have you practiced with your broadheads? Do they hit the same as your field tips? If your grouping 2' out at 20 yards its probably not a bending at the waist problem. Unless your about 50 feet up in a tree. Theres just not a lot of bending involved out at 20 yards. Try a good arm guard. Practice shooting in the clothes you hunt in. And make sure your bow is tuned to shoot broadheads and field tips the same. Your not by chance shooting a Trophy Ridge flatliner type site? They've been known to work loose now and then.

I agree with Nub... Try practicing with a broadhead on, and try to line up the blades with your feathers or vanes. The broadhead may be to big for the arrows that you are using. If your shooting carbons I would use 100 grain or less, and 125 or less with aluminums. This may sound funny, but I have seen broadheads cause missed shots up to three feet at 20 yards. Hope it all changes for you.
See you at the bloody arrow...

I think your Pro Line is afraid of heights! Give it some valium!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> Failur to bend at the waist is one of the biggest reasons people miss in tree stands. Could be the heads too. Luck

I found that when the string hits clothing it makes a loud slapping sound that you should notice. If this isn't the case, I'd check out the ideas already posted. A heavy head on carbon shafts can sometimes fly funny. I went back to alum. shafts and solved that problem. Do you use a range finder? I can tell the difference between 1/4" and 5/16" just by looking, when it comes to yards with trees and such in the way all bets are off. I read a post about a sale at JCPenneys and checked it out. Wonderful bargin and hunting tool.

all good ideas and things to look @. If you hunt from a tree practice from a tree or similar height. I practice from the roof of my house in a chair and wear the same cloths. As temp. drops & you ad cloths you definatly need to get a arm guard & make sure you coats fit and are zipped up all the way. You might try different broadheads also. I shoot spitfire 100 gr. and they fly just like my field tips every time. good luck
