Yep, that there's called a "honey hole!"

I'm going to lower the stand to about 23-25 feet from 28 feet and try to get into more cover.
I think this is an important point to call attention to: Though I often hunt 25 feet up or so, I will instantly vary my stand height to take advantage of background cover. I killed my 162-incher only 13 feet off the ground, but I was surrounded by thick vines behind me at that level.

You guys are right on about this. This photo below I was hunting a river bottom full of Sycamore trees. These trees were all HUGE! This tree was the only one I could get into even with my Summits cables all the way out. I would bet I wasn't but 10-12 feet up. I couldn't go up any higher because ofsome sort of vine, however it obviously provided enough cover to not be spotted by this guy. He never noticed me even with snapping photos of him at less than 10 yards. I had to be careful however as the sun was really shining (as you can see the reflection off his side and antlers) and my shadow was being cast right in front of him.[/align]

I know you think I am nuts GregH, but here is one I put up to check how much cover I have. Notice no black

From a distance

What worries me about this spot, if the deer get behind me. 1 I am only about 10 ft above them when they get behind me.

What I like, leads to bedding area huge one!!!

Goin into the bedding area

Where I shot the big boy, for fun!!
