Its not hunting related, but its called Shooter, and its about a snipers account on the war in Iraq. Its a really good war book if your into that kind of stuff. I really like it, but thats just me.

Dream Season by the Drury Brothers. Or Bow Hunting America. Don't know the author. Two great knowledgable books.

Bowhunting Pressured Whitetails and Precision Bowhunting by the Eberhart (sp?) family. Best bowhunting books I have ever read. I read them again and again.

Just got one in the mail yesterday....finding (or maybe tracking..i don't remember) wounded deer. Got it off amazon from only a couple of dollars. good read so far.

I plan to read "A Sand County Almanac" by Aldo Leopold

Let me just state that I have read (and own) most every book written on modern deer hunting with bow. I say modern because I know of many other books written in decades before that I would love to read but haven't located yet. I am somewhat of a book nerd.. a junky of deer knowledge. I read to learn. (included are many on deer biology only.)

With that being said most books are terrible. Not terribly written.. but written by hunters who hunt outfitters, high fences, ranches etc. None of this info. is useful for a hunter in real world settings on real world farms.

I agree with what you said. I've read a ton of books in a short time RE: deer and deer hunting. They're typically PITIFULLY formatted.

And Duke....I'm glad you learned to read.

Well I got "Finding Wounded Deer" by John Trout for Christmas, Based off the recommendations of many on this board.

It's a short read..I guess they all are if the subject is interesting. It was very insightful, I learned alot..such as 90+% of stomach shot deer are recoverable. I learned when to track immediatly and when to wait. The common misconception is to wait after all shots, but that actually hurts the recovery in many many instances.

I know I'd like to write a summary of the book for next years "what to do after the shot" if I can gain some permissions from the writer/publisher.

I'd recommend it to you as others did for me.
