RE: Myth Busters and Scent Control
ORIGINAL: atlasman ORIGINAL: Germ Compared to the Atlas test;) You go Atlas:D I really hope he does have something new. I have heard for some time now that it was coming. I would be more then interested to read a qualified, reputable, peer reviewed, published journal article on the subject. I'm think what you are expecting is a research paper done by some lab just because they descided to check on scent-Lok products. The second link I provided you was independent lab study. Yes, Scent-Lok paid the bill. I don't think I want to ..do you? Who else would ask for research on a product of this nature, but the manufacturer, to check their own findings. Consumer groups don't bother w/ hunting related products.so you won't find it in Consumer Reports. As far as peer reviews are concerned, I believe you will trust only yourself. I'm sure you've read reviews both pro and con , and you choose to believe the con. That's o.k. I don't believe allthe reviews I read either. What I will attempt to provide are findings by a lab other than Scent-Lok's own lab. Does it matter who paid for it? I understand your skepticism if you do. Having said that , if no research or lab tests exist I WILL ADMIT TO IT. You can be assured of that. One more thing. Of all the "PROS" out there that use Scent-Lok and those that don't , why did you choose to believe what Michael Corrigan said? There are more pros that use the stuff and pay for it themselves than I care to mention. Again, I'll keep u posted on my findings. |
RE: Myth Busters and Scent Control
I'm one to believe the would help, however as I stated before proper washing works for me everytime regardless whether I clothsline them or dry them in the dryer. Phsycological I would rather clothsline them but I've never noticed a difference.

RE: Myth Busters and Scent Control
How bloodhounds and other dogs trail humansviashed skin cells is pretty well documented. It's not a great leap of faith to think that deer have the same ability, since deer and dogs share an evolutionary line of development. (It's not too uncommon to find a whitetail with vestigial canine teeth). Carbon suits do nothing for shed skin cells, so theMythBusters results are not surprising- see my thread http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1650095&mpage=1&key=&#165009 5

I can't stand the Myth Busters Show. Those guys are full of it. Did you all see the show there they said it was impossiable to Robin Hood an arrow. They said it can't be done. Well I'm sure a number of us have the proof for them!

RE: Myth Busters and Scent Control
If they have done an episode on scent suppressive clothing then I'm gratified to know that they actually read the e-mails sent to their website, I'm one of the people who suggested it to them.
