One over the back miss at 15 yards on a to 130" eight pointer. My hunting record was pretty good until this year and then this year I was only able to tag a doe. I know you can't get one every year but my goal is to be successfull more years than I'm not.

Are we only talking about this year?
How about 6 (yes, I said six) years in a row without drawing blood on a deer/elk. Plenty of Grouse taken, gophers, etc. but no deer.
Ask me if I'm going to continue to bowhunt though... (of course the answer is yes).
Maybe I just suck at stalking skills, but I'd rather be out playing with the live animals than cooped up in the office with the mean ones<img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

Count me in. Second season in a row. Got 2 shots this year. 1 doe, 1 small 8 point buck. Flesh wounded both of them. Took my bow to a different pro shop and found out it's junk. So there goes my entire season down the tubes. Both deer survived the attack though so I feel better about that. Oh well, third time's the charm. Look out next year because I'm going to be authoring the thread, "How Many Did You Get This Year?" LOL

You guys are making me feel much better...My season started great, saw two nice bucks opening weekend and could not get them close enough for a shot then BAM! I have not seen a horn since. talk about frustrating almost two months without seeing a buck. I hunted last night and when I got to my car the temp was 6 degrees! the only thing I saw were two snowmobilers and a couple who thought it was a nice night to walk their three dogs in the woods!

I'm all over this one. I did get to take a shot and reported the gutshot here(lost him). No tags used in this, my third straight year. Cold front a'comin' so I'm heading out to a very promising spot this afternoon.

Count me in on the loser squad! I got a big nothing for both deer and elk this year. I'll get to hunt one more day (Saturday) this year in late muzzleloader season with an "any deer" tag, but other than that (and chances aren't great then) I'll be done for the year without drawing blood. What makes it worse is that I haven't even seen any of the animal I'm after in either season. I nearly got run down by a mule deer doe that wasn't paying attention in elk season, though. At least I know my camo and scent management worked. She passed within less than a foot of me and never knew I was there. I should have grabbed her around the neck and hopped on her back. At least there would have been a little excitement in that hunt.

No deer in the freezer for me either. I had many chances that I passed on and a bonified monster buck that I missed by about 6 inches low due to extreme buck fever. Learned much, laughed a lot and had a great time everytime out. There is always 2nd season day after Christmas!
