It called ZEN Bowhunting!!!

Kind off like a golfer who can not miss, his swing is in the "Grove"
I call it focused! I don't want to sound like a ZEN![:-]

I shot a big one in Kansas in 94 that I will always remember every detail in slow motion. It was sniffing some JVS I had out and when my hand hit my anchor point I remember thinking, your dead. I fallowed through with the shot and watched the arrow go through right behind the shoulder, All at the same time the Buck only flinched and looked at where the noise had come from, I watched the Hair the Broadhead had cut off drift slowly to the ground, Then the buck wen't right back to sniffing the JVS. I remember thinking should I shoot him again? Looking at the Hole behind its shoulder I think, he's dead and don't know it yet!! The blood started pouring from the far sidelow hole, and he turned his head to look at it, his hips started swaying, and he staggerd sideways, made about a 15 yard semi circle and layed down, He looked around for a few seconds, layed his head down, flicked his tail twice , the third time it flaired out and went limp and I knew it was all over. The hole process took about 3 min. It felt like a solid Hour!!

TC, are you at all dyslexic? I only ask because I've read that people with dyslexia tend to process certain situations much faster than the average person, which kind of creates a slow-motion effect in time.

The same thing happens to me in crucial moments - ie, sports, accidents, fights.

I was in a car accident once, as a passenger, where we were about to hit a utility pole head on at 70+mph. I processed the situation so fast that this split second moment seemed to take a full minute to play out in real time. I sized up the scene quick enough to realize the driver was unaware and/or unable to manuever so I jumped onto his lap and steered out of the way. We ended up clipping the front passenger corner but had I not reacted, we would have hit it head on and likely both died.
This is just one example of many experiences I've had. So if you seem to go into slow motion mode too, I suggest you embrace your gift and make the most of it too.

Yea I don't know if I'd call it slow motion, it just seems that I can run thru a million things in my head in a short amount of time.
Sometimes I just go into autopilot and don't even think at all, it just happens.

Yep, this is the time where bowhunters have to concentrate the most.
