I have learned that if you don't get out then chances are slim of getting a deer. ;) This was my saddest season from that point as I was only able to get out for about 5 days and then only for a few hours each.

After tagging out for the first time ever, and with a bow at that, that I am totally and hopelessly ruined. i won't be gun hunting for deer again. I will just bowhunt now with my Diamond and the recurve I hope to see any day now!

I learned there is a thief in the woods I hunt.
I learned 2 new woodlots and how the deer move through them. I'm sure I learned other things, I just forgot them already[:@] |

I learned that if venison is the goal, bow hunting, due to the amount of time you have to wait after the shot, along with warmer temperatures is a less than favorable weapon to choose in accomplishing this task, sorry...

Just how beuatiful and amazing God's creation is, and just how insignificant we homo sapiens are in the BIG PICTURE!!!! I just love sitting in my tree watching all the critter's!!! Happy New Year to all my bowhunting brother's and sister's!!!

Thanks for the offer, but I already know where to shoot them. How about you come and see me and I'll teach you about properly field dressing, skinning, aging and butchering deer with the quality of meat being the first priority. Once we've agreed on the basics of meat prep, you can then teach me what I'm doing wrong. Butif we agree that I'm not doing anythingwrong,maybe you could be man enough to admit that the bow is less than favorable? That is "if" the "quality" of the"venison" is the "first priority". I am totally aware that there are more reasons to hunt and I enjoy them all, I was simply stating what I had learned. HuntingGUS, Here's an idea - don't shoot them through the shoulders?! |
