I just returned from WalMarthopingto buy a Gorrilla stand on sale, they were all out of them. Thank God! Thank You for the heads up and sorry to hear about the lost buck, but I'm happy you weren't hurt.

My Gorilla's are great stands!!!! I haven't had a single problem with any of them. Every brand will eventually have one or two faulty products. It rarely happens!!!! Glad to know you're alright.

I don't think I would go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a lonewolf when you can buy the new aluminum Rivers Edge that will easily hold you up and not have the same problem that a walmart special treestand has. Look into it, they are awesome. I love mine.

Glad you didn't get hurt. It's funny though, all you hear is how many people love that stand! Personally, I wouldn't use anything but a Lone Wolf. It's light, compact, sturdy, secure and super quiet! It is pricey, but you generally get what you pay for.

Welcome to the club. I tried my Gorilla on a telephone pole when I took it out of the box. It popped when I moved around on it (scraping between the mesh and the frame), so it went back to Cabela's the next day. Then I bought a Lone Wolf, which hasn't given me any trouble at all.

I used to have a stand with an expanded metal floor like that. I could never keep it quite either. The welds would pop like yours did and it would creak when it twisted with my weight. I no longer have it. Don't remember what brand it was, I got it at a garage sale.
