RE: Predator answer for Davidmil
For more utlility and to be able to get more "usability" out of it in a broader spectrum? Yeah, I'd go with the Wolfskin as well... The wool is really super nice, just limited in its applications -- at least for me in the Midwest. But I can tell you I do appreciate it on those really cold December and January sits.
When the temps are above 30, I'll wear my usual stuff with the military's ACWS polypropelene underwear beneath, and I do just fine. |

Last question... do you have the comfort max???? Would you get it??? I have layers and layers of undies and wool shirts.

RE: Predator answer for Davidmil
David, I don't own any comfortmax yet, and honestly haven't investigated it enough to speak intelligently to that...
I'm considering trying some of the under armour stuff this coming year to see if that makes any difference in keeping my core body temperature warmer. |
RE: Predator answer for Davidmil
I have climamax on three of my suits and is the samething. When it is hot or you over heatyou still sweat. I went with X-scents this year for a base layer and I could really tell the differnce. A good base layer will do more to help you stay dry then anything else.

RE: Predator answer for Davidmil
Davidmil, I have a set of Wolfskin clothing with the linings you are questioning. I opted to have the pants lined only with comformax and the jacket to be insulated with Thinsulate ultra and then comformax. I have no way of comparing what the fabric would be like without the linings. All I can tell you is that I've been very pleased in the 2 + seasons I have used it. It is pretty warm, though wool would be much much warmer. The wind protection seems to be where its most noticable. Its a big plus when sitting on a cold windy day to keep it out. Helps you stay a lot warmer.
For a windproof lining that is pretty water resistant, its quiet as anything I've seen. If you've had any experience with Cabelas Dry Plus lining, you know its a little noisy when cold. Comformax does not exibit this at all. In fact, I have the sample material of what it is and it is pretty much a tightly woven cloth material, not a varnish or treated fabric. The wolfskin, as mentioned is the best material out there IMO. Grey Wolf Woolens will give you clothing that IMO, unless I see otherwise, can't be beat. If you would like, I can post detailed pics of just how well this clothing is put together. Amazing attention to detail and clothing that will hold up for many, many years. |

Thanks Muzzy, but the link someone put up with all the picturs shows it all pretty well, that and their website. I'm getting some. I checked the exhibitors list for the Harrisburg show the first part of Feb. Greywolf will be there. Do I dare say.... so will that other Camo guy.[8D]LOL

;) I know what ya mean. I'm going to stop by and talk with Jeff when I get there. I would like to meet the guy in person.
There are a couple suggestions I would like to make regarding the design, but nothing really major. As for construction, I don't think you can find a better built piece of clothing anywhere. I would love to see Deception in the Wolf Skin. Though the Fall Brown is IMO, the most versatile of all the Predator patterns. |
