When do you shoot or don't shoot!

When hunting Canada, I only shoot bucks 140"+. But then again I can only shoot bucks there. In WI I don't get to hunt until muzzleloader season and late bow season. Then I will only shoot bucks 130"+ and the first two does that come by.

I will shoot a doe at every chance I have as long as I have tags and I don't already have one that needs to be dealt with and processed. I also will not shoot a doe as the chase activity rises, too much of a chance a buck being behind her.

That brings the question, what about does? The older guys say, never shoot a doe.

My son and I have a mission, next season. I didn't do my part, this year.....and I regret it. We need to take some does out of the herd in a big way in '07. MY plan is to TRY and take a buck, early.......then settle in on does for the remainder of the season. I'd like to tag out....and NEED to....if we're going to do our part in herd management. I'd like for my son to shoot a few does, too (or...ANY deer he chooses).
I want to take 4(+) does out in '07.
