Default Finally, my first bow kill.

I got my first muzzleloader kill on Dec 16th and today I got my first bow kill.

I was in my stand before daylight and had decided early on that if I hadn't seen movement by 11am I would get down, change the battery in my buddies trail camera, and move to another location.

At 10:45, I got out a PBJ sandwich and a bottle of water. Took 3 or 4 bites of the sandwich, took a drink of water and noticed a doe coming over a ridge about 50-60 yards in front of me. I scrambled to put my sandwich and water away as quietly as possible. When I looked back up, the 1 doe turned into 7 doe's.

The 2nd doe (they were all walking single file) was noticably bigger. I ranged the first doe (27yds) as she stepped out onto the main trail, once the second one (the largest one of the bunch) stepped out, I grunted to make her stop, and let my CE Maxima tipped with the 2-blade Rage fly and it found it's mark as it passed thru.

The 2 blade Rage tore her up bad. She went about 40yds and crashed. I could see her pumping from the stand. Blood trail wasn't really that heavy an any one spot but was about 6-8ft wide. She was really spraying.

Since this is my first bowkill, I don't really have alot to compare it too but this broadhead performed well above my expectations.

Congratulations on your first bowkill. I still remember mine.

You know, you mention the PBJ thing, it always seems they show up when we're not ready. In 07 I'm going to sit in all my stands not ready...lol

Way to go and thanks for sharing with us.

Yes it is. I weighed her when I checked her in and she was 125lbs dressed. Not sure what she would have been live weight? 150? 155?

Thank you all. I've read countless threads about other people's kills. It feels good to finally have a post of my own.

Congrats....way to hang in there in the late season. I was going to my stand Wed about 2:45. As I was half way up the hill I look up to see a doe from the neck up staring right @ me[:@]. We had a staring match for about 30 seconds (until she had enough) and she turned tail and headed out. I went to top of hill to see about 8-10 with her.. So I'm hanging in there for at least one more.

That broadhead sure did the job...WOW!

Again...Great job!!!
