I got my first muzzleloader kill on Dec 16th and today I got my first bow kill.
I was in my stand before daylight and had decided early on that if I hadn't seen movement by 11am I would get down, change the battery in my buddies trail camera, and move to another location.
At 10:45, I got out a PBJ sandwich and a bottle of water. Took 3 or 4 bites of the sandwich, took a drink of water and noticed a doe coming over a ridge about 50-60 yards in front of me. I scrambled to put my sandwich and water away as quietly as possible. When I looked back up, the 1 doe turned into 7 doe's.
The 2nd doe (they were all walking single file) was noticably bigger. I ranged the first doe (27yds) as she stepped out onto the main trail, once the second one (the largest one of the bunch) stepped out, I grunted to make her stop, and let my CE Maxima tipped with the 2-blade Rage fly and it found it's mark as it passed thru.
The 2 blade Rage tore her up bad. She went about 40yds and crashed. I could see her pumping from the stand. Blood trail wasn't really that heavy an any one spot but was about 6-8ft wide. She was really spraying.
Since this is my first bowkill, I don't really have alot to compare it too but this broadhead performed well above my expectations.
