Stalking after the bushytails and cottontails in season right now is every bit as challenging (and ten times as eventful) as hiding in the shadows for whitetails...though admittedly 100 times more work in terms of numbers required to fill the freezer.

It's time for gun season!Bowhunting with my recurves and LB's is my passion, but I do enjoy rifle season. There's alot of tradition that goes along with it.BTW,AK-nice looking bow!Did you make that yourself? And also,we(me and a couple other trad shooters)always go out for the tree rats in our late season with our recurves and LB's-and ALOT of arrows! We always have a good time doing that.

Yes, I will be out for rifle on Monday and Tuesday but I have three days of goose and pheasants before that...

I saw a total of 5 bucks within shooting range. I passed on a mature, but small racked buck. 3 of them were takers and I was actually drawn back on one of them, but he moved out of range. I guess luck wasn't on my side this year. Now I'm meat hunting. Good luck everyone.

I'll be out Monday also looking for mine!! I passed on 2 small 6 Pointers in archery. I know there are some bigger ones around so I held off for one. I always save 1 tag for late bow season though so it's not over just yet!!! GOOD LUCK Monday to all!!

There is still second season and I'll hunt with a bow during rifle season, since I live in a slug only area. No reason to quit now, I already have one doe and have been tracking a 10 point.
Since I am one of those folks that shoots a rifle at least 2K rounds a year; it isn't really a hunt for deer-more like just murder. Sorry guys I am in the firearms training business so archery is my way of relaxing.
