OK, Summit's steel cables are tested to what... 8,000 lbs? And you're worried about snapping one of them at 210 lbs.?

The rubber's been off mine in a lot of places for several years now... because I use the heck out of it.

I bought a Summit, used it, didn't like it. Sold it, bought an Ol'man, will never use another brand as long as it lasts. I've had it 8-9 years I believe.

I've got a Summit Viper like several guys that have replied to this thread. I love it. It's the most solid climber I've ever owned. The rubber peeling off means nothing. I'm 210 lbs as well, and I have no worries whatsoever about the integrity of this stand. It's rock solid. I would definitely recommend the Summit. But if you go with the Summit, get the Goliath. It's the same as the Viper but roomier.

k thanks for the replys i guess i will have to go to basspro an see what they have on the summits i mean im not trying to be anal about it im just worried going from a steel back to cables i mean i seen 2 people so far on here busting my chops thats why i posted this forum to see what everyone's insights were about it so i thank the most of yall for helping with it

here is an idea for the steel backif you didnt know this but tie a peice of rope to keep the top and the bottow within reach of each other that way if the bottom kicks out you can just get it back up with your feet
