Brace Height, and Hand Torque
#1
How many of you guys deal with shorter brace heights causeing problems with hand torque? How do you deal with this problem? I know practice is very important but is there anything else.

springcaller, assuming you already shoot with a sling, and open grip. Take a magic marker and draw a stright line down the center of your riser, below your shelf to your grip, (you will need help with this part) get a good torque free grip on your bow and draw it back, now have your helper continue the line from the riser accross the back of your hand towards the bow string, it only needs to be 1" long. Shoot like this for a few weeks untill you get used to putting your hand in the bow the same way every time. If the problem still exists, itmay beimproper body alinement. To check this real quick draw your bow back and settle your pin on the bulls eye, Now close your eye, and with back tenchion only holding your bow back, relax your body, allowing bone structure to take over(you have to relax or this will not work!) Now open your eye. If your still on the Bulls eye, Body position is fine! If your a right handed shooter and the pin is to the left of the dot, move your rear foot back and vice versa, repeat process till you find most natural body position and mark it. If sight pin is high or low, you control that by raising or lowering your release arm elbo. Do this in pratice enough, and it will come natural when hunting. Hope things work out for Ya!

I honestly feel that brace height has very little to do with much of anything if you shoot good strong shots.

Thanks guys, the only reason I was concered with this is b/c Im going from a 9" brace to a 7" brace and I've heard that the 9" is more forgiveing b/c the arrow leaves the string quicker. Thanks for all the help, Im starting as soon as my bow gets here.
