The first good snow of the year usually puts the deer in a hole for a while, but within 24 hours they'll be hunting food in a big way. Sure you go hunting. Will you eat breakfast, lunch and dinner today. Deer get hungry too. They need fuel to combat the cold and snow. It's harder to find, they search more in daylight hours and they search longer hours.

I love to hunt in snow. You can see a lot further than normal and you can see all the fresh tracks after a snow. I learn a lot about how the deer travel and it helps me set up better for the next year.

My favorite time to be in a treestand is when there's at least 4" of snow on the ground, there is little or no wind, and really big snowflakes are raining down. Makes for some beautiful scenery and good deer hunting.
