Honest story here.....I called Rob and his buddy Kurt was up there when I called. I bumped at least 10-12 deer going into my stand that morning. They'd gotten home early....and all I was doing was blowing them out of the area (1 hr before daylight).

I waited 'til after daylight the next morning......walked straight to my stand without bumping anything (that I know of)....and told Rob and Kurt on the way home I had seen 23 when I stopped counting. I even remember that was 11/4...a Saturday (I think). Ya gotta know YOUR deer.......and I'm still learning...!!

That's the way it is behind my house. They are milling about in there before light but if I go in just after light I don't bump anything and catch the deer coming through mid-morning and then later in the evening. If I bump them in the dark I don't see them that evening. I've tried going in earlier and even starting a half mile down the road and circling in above them but always end up bumping deer. Found it's just better to hunt after light or just evening hunt.

A three legged animal? I do leave three tracks when I walk in the snow come to think of it.

the leaves were REALLY crunchy and loud on the way in the other day......
peeing on those leaves as you walk in will quiten them down, just like rain...
