Oh man, Atlas you're dam right!

Atlasman you need to calm down, give the kid a break.
Joined today.......Hmmmm

I am calm.........and I would give him a break if he deserved one.

Childers hope you find your buck, it's just part of hunting sometimes things don't work out.
When are people going to stop using this lame umbrella statement to cover EVERY stupid thing done in the woods?

Not knowing what to do after you shoot a deer in the woods is NOT part of hunting.........it's NOT something that didn't work out. The kid and his dad had a poorly hit deer and they couldn't rub their 2 brains together and come up with a better idea then chase him into the next county as fast as they could. That isn't part of hunting.

As for atlasman it's people like that who discourage people (kids) from picking up the great sport of hunting.
You must be joking........I encourage more kids to hunt then you can ever imagine pal. The BIG difference is I encourage them to HUNT........which means they need to know some basic knowledge along with being reasonably accurate with a weapon. I know that is such a tragic thought in todays world but this isn't Playstation........these are real live animals, and if you are just gonna wound and/or kill them and leave them to die and rot in the woods due to stupidity then yes I will discourage anyone from doing that.

When you and childers are in study hall tomorrow look around and see if they have any books on deer hunting/tracking

Well, the deer is more than likely dead (if there was ever a deer).

Anyway, it will be tough but it is possible to find this deer. I really want you to find this buck so you can laugh in our faces.

Go to the last bed, get on your hands and knees and look for any sign of the deer. Sign being blood, tracks, rustled leaves, ants, hair, or anything. Its hard to tell how far he did go if you guys kept pushing him. Double check near a water source in case he was gut shot.

All you gotta do is search! Get your dad back out there and search hard. You have a dead buck...you just gotta play the "wheres Waldo" game.

GL!

ok so today i was siiting ina bunker i had made out of branches and stuff, and after about 1 and 1/2 hours a monster buck finally walks up. and when i decide he is close as he is gunna get, i shoot. i hit him right behind the vitals probably about 3 inches off. it was a 60 foot shot. we were so happy that i had finally shot my first buck and also its on bow, so we only waited about 30 minutes and we were following the blood trail. every 5 or 10 minutes to give him a little more time. and about 55 minutes after my shot we see him bedded down and then he see's us and he jumps up and runs off. we follow the trail and every once and a while we find a drop or too about every 20 feet. also when we were first trailing him i found a big pile of seimen. we seriously were out there all day. i shot him at 8:20 and we stopped trying around 4:00. the overall blood trail off what we could find was about 50 yards long.

we never found the deer again. i just want to know how long he will live and if he lives that would be the best.
Did anybody even read this? How come nobody has mentioned the "big pile of seimen (sp)? What does that have to do with anything??????
