Hello,
My 12y.o. wants to try a little bow hunting for deer on our acreage. He has a bow that adjust as high as 35#. Is this enough to take a deer with a broadhead and a good shot?

35 is right at about the minimum, but its a deadly shot if the deer is within 30 yards.

yes a 35# bow will kill a deer as long as you get a good hit. also you must have a heavy arrow. i killed a deer at about 30 - 35 yards with my old 35# seneca bow with a bear broadhead, and brought him down well within 50 yds. you probably wont get a passthru but i find that when the arrow is still stuck in him as hes runnin, it will hit trees and branches and tear him up even more.
to put it simply, use a 35# bow as long as you KNOW you can make a good hit
good luck
