Google earth, USGS, terraserver, www.local.live.com, Yahoo BETA Maps,
all of these are great sites. it depends on where you live on the quality of photo.

Dont forget to check your county or local unit of government. Maybe they have already done it with more recent photos. Our county flies the aerials at least once every five years and they have digitized them into their GIS system. We can look at aerials of any parcel in our county and overlay property lines...look up tax info etc for every piece of property. All of this is available from the county's website. So maybe your county or local unit of government has done it too.

another one is usaphotomaps. not sure of the url and too lazy to verify. That one runs off terraserver pictures but it's an application that has some really neat added features. You can pull in your waypoints and tracks from your gps. you can also hook up your gps and (if using a laptop) it will show you right on the satellite picture where you are. Works good for scouting new land (assuming you're driving around in a vehicle, not so good walking around
).
