I agree 100%, I dont honestly think there are any bad bows out there out of the main manufacturers. Peoples responses tell me how knowledgeable they are with bows and if the information they state is worth any value to me.

Diesel....I've shot maybe 5 bows in my life. That's just being honest. I bought a Mathews based SOLELY on a friend's recommendation. It was th efirst bow I ever shot.....a little over 1 yr ago.
I heard all the hype when the Trykons came out.....and I thought if they're that good.....I'll buy one. I HONESTLY went into the shop to maybe buy one. It felt like it was lurching forward.....when I shot it. I left without one. I seriously don't have a problem with your assessment of my hunting knowledge.....or my knowledge of bows. I never claimed to be an expert at anything deer related. I'll likely fill all 6 of my tags, this year, though.
And....BTW....your signature speaks for itself.

i've got a new xt this year. love it, BUT i own a Victory motorcycle(MADE IN USA)....harley has taken 103 years to MASTER nothing, thier bikes are underpowered and flawed(i will say they have the whole "mystique" thing down)
, but Victory did a fine job in ummmmm about EIGHT YEARS.
I'm just stirrin the pot, but just because a product has been around forever does not neccesarily make it the best of its kind, know what i mean?
now go shoot something!

P.S. Mathews makes a great bow and so do many other manufacturers. I just like to give TeeJay a hard time 'cause it is fun. Can't wait to party with you and icefish in January buddy!!! Maybe we can use your outback as an ice auger.
I wasn't joking about quitting riding before I rode a jap bike though.

Diesel. The difference is I don't really CARE what anyone else likes (and I say that with ZERO malice). I just gave an honest opinion of what I thought of my experience shooting a particular bow of a particular brand. If I'd liked it....I'd have likely bought it. If I hated my Mathews....I'd own something else. I have ZERO allegiance to ANY bow company.
And what does my bowhunting for 1 yr have to do with the relevance of my statements regarding MY experience with a particular bow? I also own a Browning Illusion (that I bought for my son), so I'm no prostitute to a particular brand.
What bothers me about this subject is people always thinking the other guy has an angle. I can understand one statinghis dissent when another person has a view/opinion that differs from their experince with a certain model/brand.....but that doesn't make the former opinion invalid (no matter how long they've been hunting).

Well, I'm sure this has already been said but..... Here goes anyway.
Yes that's a lot of cash for a bow... Yes Mathews makes some great bows, yes Hoyt makes great bows, and yes Matrin make great bows... ETC!!!!!
Bows are kind of like women... Some like blonds, redheads or brunets. I like them all!
Besides, it really does not matter what the topic is... every body has a preference. I play guitar and you should see the people who flame back and forth... Some like Martins, some like Taylor’s, some like Ovation, Gibson, Fender..... And don't even get me started on trucks..... Chevy, Toyota, Ford, Dodge! So what!!!
Yes you should shoot it before you knock it... and if you don't want to shoot it I can't blame you. For that kind of cash, I don't want to shoot it either. For now I will stick with my little Outback (that harvested a nice little 8pter this year) and be happy with the almost $800 still in my pocket. After all, I have to pay for my mount some how!!!

He is talking about SBGobbler having only one year experience, not you. Damn Mathews guys are so touchy
Shoot the Vectrix buddy, it will make your sticker peck out. BTW, SBGOBBLER, I had an old bear whitetail 2 and I still have an old Bear Alaskan 2 and those bows are easily 20-25 years and they don't "jump" out of my hands and I have never had a bow ever "jump" out of my hands, and I have shot many. The Trykon is as smooth on release as ANY bow I have ever shot including my Tribute and the Switchback XT. You are the 1st person that I have ever heard, whether on a forum or in person ,say that a Trykon wasn't a smooth, vibration free, shooter. Some peopledon't like the draw cycle, but NO complaints about the release.

WH, the Vectrix just hit Des Moines this weekend and I am heading down tommorrow to shoot it(I hope). My 28.5" draw won't be in till next week it looks. They have 28 and 29 in though. Price here in IA is $729 for the standard Vectrix; no idea on the XL price. I am getting the standard. have talked with the three pro shops here that have shot them and the reviews are "best bow they have ever shot". All three pro shops sell both Mathews and Hoyts and the guys tell me the Hoyt Vectrix is a CLEAR winner over the Drenaline by Mathews or the Switchback XT. One guy I spoke with at Scheels tonight said that he was a Mathews fan until he shot the Vectrix. He is buying the Vectrix.
