Scary last hunt!Well I had Monday off so I decided to get in a final bow hunt before the season ends here in Michigan. I got out nice and early around 2:00 climbed up the tree and sat. It was a perfect day for hunting, cloudy, cold and still. It wasn't until a half hour before dusk that I seen something moving. Oh friggin great, here comes some brother walking down my path from where I park. Well there goes my hunting for the season! I figured once he got close to me I'd tell him he's on private property and he MUST LEAVE! Well I never got the chance, he stopped about 30yrds from me, looked around and then pulled out a hand gun, rolled the revolver and started shooting it around me. I screamed at him "WHAT THEF _ _ _ ARE YOU DOING!" Mean while I'm trying to hide myself from being shot. The guy never seen me and just ran off. I climbed down as fast as possible but he was already gone. So yeah what a great way to end my last hunt of bow season!Talk about being scared, I wasn't sure if I should anything, I had no clue who he was, I didn't know if he just robbed the apartments where I park, all I knew was this guy had a hand gun and was shooting it around. I was afraid to even say anything because he might just point it at me and shoot. I called the land owner, a good friend of mine, and told him I will not be hunting in that area anymore. He's going to make a police report today about it so it's at least on record. BTW - your not even suppose to be using a gun in that area, only bow hunting, there's homes all around.Be safe out there fellow hunters you never know what to expect.

Now thats something new for a 1st post.
Welcome to the boards, gald to have you, and I agree, I doubt I'd spend much more time there myself.
When you said apartments did you mean projects?

No they're not the Projects, LOL! My buddy owns a 3 unit on 20 acres. I have no clue where this guy came from, that's what scared me so bad, I kind of assumed he might have just robbed the apartments. He did have a gun, so.........Oh and technically it's not my first post. I had to create a new account due to my old email being turned off.Killer- I seriously thought about it. One more shot and I would have been forced to return fire, however, me being stuck in a tree makes for an easy target. I love my climber but I guess it does have some short comings.

Trust me, I will be and if any DNR officer wants to say something about it, they're welcome to, but for my own personal safety, I will always be carrying a hand gun during bow season from now on.
