Im sorry to hear it. Our season starts at the end of Sept. and doesnt end till Jan. Mind you rifle season starts in Nov. so you got to deal with the deer acting a little more skitish. Im also lucky, when season ends here, we got hogs all year round. Acually, the hog hunting picks up late in the winter. Im such a lucky slob.

It's Official! Burnie YOU SUCK TOO!!! Just kidding. I could just imagine having seasons as long as yours here in PA, Very quickly there would be no such thing as a whitetailed deer in PA with the Orange Army marching around[:'(]. I think PA is only second or third in the country to I think Michigan and Minnesota in the numbers of hunters in the state. Some rifle seasons it really feels like there is a hunter behind every tree, especially on public ground.
So guys do we have a name for this little road trip we're gonna take? Realtree Roadtrips will have nothing on us!

PA....
My bow season starts 9/9.....and ends 12/19.
I then go one county over.....and hunt with a friend on his lease until 1/1.
That is......unless I tag out!!.....lol (Which would be THREE more deer!)

Alright good deal, we have a clan ready for this trip. Yeah PA, I'm more of a flavor drinker as well... I like my brain cells. But your gas bill is increasing, by the time TXjourney and burnie make it to my house up here in OK, then we drive to Missouri to pick up all the MO's and then you and Gramps (AKA Rob)meet us in Montana...
Burnie, these pictures are from my buddy's ranch on the Brazos... I know you know the Brazos.

. Its a great thing for me, but my wife dont like it much.lol.. If you could get to Tx. There is loads of public land. Hogs everywhere. And since the market is down on them, no one is traping them. Im seeing more and more. I almost hit two this week on the road coming and going to work.

Man I gotta move out of Pennsylvania! Naaa! I couldn't as much as I might complain about PA I really do love it. But if the morons in the cities keep voting for idiots like our Gun-Grabbing Govenor "Fast Eddie" Rendell I may want to move[:@][:'(]. But that is another story.[8D] I guess i'll just have to find some friends out of state who would be willing to let me come hunt with them. Hint! Hint!

You bet. My land in Jayton is on the salt fork of the Brazos. I live in knox county, next to two forks of the Brazos, actually watched a bunch of hogs crossing the River yesterday. I also hunt in Brock right on the Clear fork of the Brazos. Actually lost a doe in the Brazos there three weeks ago. The river was up, P.K. had the dam open, and I shot a doe about 20 yards from the river, she ran to the river and piled up in it. The river washed her away. I was not real happpy. We could never find her.
I use to go to Norman quite a bit. Back when I was in College (1990s), I set the O.U. Record for the Highjump in their indoor facilites. I also like to ride my harley in those parts. Either up through Ardmore or Lawton.

I'm going through the same thing as well. I rarely harvest a buck before the rut, but did this year. It's killing me not being able to hunt, but still see all the rutting activity. I'm able to tag along with my friends though and hang double stands, which helps...

GRAMPS!!!!! ROTFL

Maybe we can get that emboidered for him on his Enigma Hat and his Jacket. It's official Rob/PA Bower will be refered to as "Gramps" from now on.
I am serious about a road trip next year guys, Maybe not as many stops as discussed, but I think we could work some kind of middle meeting point out. It would be so great to meet all of you guys in person.

PA.....
I'm older than Rob by a few years. I'd say come with Rob to NC.....but we'll likely just be slammin' Geritol and talking about the glory days (ya know.....when we talk about the 70's.....we're not tlaking about temperatures).
