Dog training videos and books
I also posted this in the off season forums but figured I would put it here also being there are always alot more people in this section.
As most of you know we recently got a new Weimaraner pup and I got alot of good advice on starting training her. I work for a boat marina and we shut down for a month after the end of this month so I can't afford to spend alot right now. Do any of you have any old dog training books or videos you would like to donate or sell cheap? I am looking mainly for training her to hunt, this would be pheasant and tracking wounded/dead deer. Anything else would also be helpfull and very much appreciated. If I waited a few months the money wouldn't be as much of a problem but she is 11 weeks old right now and I would like to get her started training asap, plus it will give me something to do while I am off work the month of December. Thank you all.

RE: Dog training videos and books
I tried the books and videos but they didn't work.
He seemed to get bored quickly when I made him watch the video. I'm not sure how much of it sunk in.
And he surely didn't want to read any books!

I know with our German short haireds we would train with live birds. I forget what is called but it basically looked like an over grown sock and the bird would be in it. I know it also helps having another dog that is trained around. The pup will pick up what the other is doing and it may be easier.

You can always rent dog training DVDs from HuntFlix! Here is the link to our dog training section. We are slated to be adding another half dozen titles to this category next month.
