Loved it.

Until it broke.

Loved the second one.

Until it broke.

Bought number three this year, so far I'm loving it.

Its a great call as far as sound goes, but as for durability? It has a tendancy to fall apart.

Its the only grunt call I've used and had results with.

The reed assembly inside would either clog up or fall apart completely.

Same here, the first and second one broke. I own number 3 but I feel there are better.

For example, the River Valley Deer Flute, the Rubbernecker from Primos, Mad's grunt, River Valley's All Season.

I pulled my buck in with the Deer Flute.

I have one as well, and it sounds like the real deal, however I've heard from several people that they do fall apart. Mine hasn't yet, so I'm still loving mine too!

hmmm... not doubting the guys it broke for, but I've put my True Talker through heck and high water (almost literally) and the first one is still going strong after four or five years, at least? Now my three-year-old has it, and I can tell you he ain't the most gentle with it, and it still works flawlessly...

I bought a new one for me simply because the weak point is where the lanyard attaches; it's a pretty thin piece of rubber between the two holes holding the lanyard on, and it finally pulled through on the first one. I love the sound and the easy adjustability of it (just roll the finger down the membrane for whatever sound you want). I also love the fact that it's basically soft rubber and as such pretty noise-proof out in the woods.

Rob mentioned the Deer Flute, and I've had a chance to play with that some; it makes awesome sounds as well -- however, I think I prefer the flat black, soft rubberish feel of the True Talker and it's quietness during my tendency to bump things with it while in stand or as it swings around my neck.
