Good luck, I hope it all works out for you and your son. Since you'll be apart from each other, you should probably show your son on a map where your stand is. This way if you're ever hunting with firearms you know where each other are. And don't forget some two way radios...

I like your thinking KP.....but we ONLY hunt with bows/arrows......and we'd be 1/4 or more from each other. We went over the radio thing, last night. Mama keeps one at the house.........he takes one with him......I have a phone. We can all be in contact in a matter of minutes (I also have another 2 way....but I'd prefer the phone).
I know EXACTLY where he'd be....(lock on).....and he knows where I'll be (as does mama).
GREAT advice!

Congrats on the new land. I'm sure you have already thought of this but heres my 2 cents anyway. 10 acres isn't alot of land. Its plenty to hunt on. However, make sure you have permission to the adjacent farms so you can track a deer that you shoot if they run off of the 10 acre property. Good luck

So , SB, I have to ask this one question. Oh wait, let me first say congrats on the new land. I wish you much success there. NOW, if this is such a "mecca" , how did you finally get sole access to it? did you lease it, is it family owned, friends, offer to work for the rights, sell your first born, or did you catch the owner of the land with some farm animals? You have to give up a few details on how you pulled that off.
God bless
