You know up in here in Wisconsin, I think you have more to fear from a rutting mature buck then you do from a black bear. Especially when you spill some of that doe in estrus on your camo! LOL

I am going to check out the bear tag potential here in Wisconsin. I've tasted bear meat and thought it was great. I've seen a few bear early season - especially if you bait.

There are a group of people in my region who do not hunt bear because of the spiritual significance. They are a part of the bear clan. Most bear are hunted with dogs, until its treed and then have a shoot-out until its dead. That is definitely not my scene. But a bow killed bear - that would work out.

You betcha, the adrenaline rush alone is worth the cost of the bear tag, the backstraps are bonus!!
