Default More Primitive?

I rarely bow hunt, but have a question. Do any of you use or know of anyone that has used an indian type arrow head to hunt, that has taken a deer with an indian arrowhead either on a longbow or compound bow?

Default RE: More Primitive?

Timber, I hunt with wooden bows of my own crafting, but use manufactured, doweled arrow shafts and commercial steel points...circa 1920's and 1930's archery equipment. Half a dozen deer and quite a bit of small game have fallen to my bows. I would eventually like to hunt with stone points on handmade shafts as well, but have to set aside time from bowmaking to learn the art of flintknapping first.

There is an interesting and very candid discussion on the use of stone points going on right now over on the stickbow.com site. Might want to give it a look.
