I thought that restriction about hunting within 150 yards of an occupied building only had to do with permission?

If that same situation were presented to me the only questions I'd be asking is to one of my buddies to come by and help me clean the deer. I would have shot them long ago...no regrets or apologies

Spur.. it says "it is unlawful to hunt or shoot at wildlife within 150 yards of an occupied structure or camp without permission of the owner or occupant". So if they choose to use the term "structure" liberally(all of Md. is liberal you know[8D]) you'd have to consider garages, outhouse, outbuildings any structure.

Illinois buck hunter: they choose those 3 trees because it's a feast of easy pickings. In the woods they have to dig through all the leaves to find an accorn. On your lawn or driveway the things are piled up nice and neat in the open. Just like shoving your face into a plate at Thanksgiving. Anywhere you put it you get gravy on your face.

If you'd like to address me personally, please get it right. It's NavyDeerHunter, not NavyDeerGuy.
Also, if you want to quote me or the law, you may want to do so accurately. I did not say that I ONLY have a 2 acre lot, I said that most folks have OVER 2.5 acres. You have no idea if it's 2.6 or 26 so why are you commenting on it? You have no idea as to the lay of the land or where the deer may or may not run, so again...why comment?
You're close, but actually Maryland law requires that it is unlawful to "hunt or shoot at wildlife within 150 yards of an occupied structure or camp WITHOUT PERMISSION OF THE OWNER OR OCCUPANT. Check page 14 of the regs.
And with regard to your comment to G8atta2d...You're damn right I'm Navy. I have been for over 24 years and I'm proud of it. Who are you to say what makes me/us happy? You don't know me.

Well NavyDeerGuy, you may be adding another chapter to the term "Ugly Hunter" with the neighborhood. And, since you only have 2 acre lots you got a very limited shooting funnel I'd say. Maryland law requires you be no closer than 150 yards of an occupied building when discharging a weapon. Add to the fact your deer is going to run and more than likely end up on a neighbors lawn, well... it isn't going to be pretty. You know Maryland, they'll want an environmental study before they'll issue you a permit. And guess what, they don't issue depredation permits for shrubbery, flowers and bushes..... only for farm crops and usually on 50 acres or more. Yup, with Maryland treehuggers in full force, I figure your only option is a punji pit or night hunting with infrared lights.[8D] I can see it now.... "Navy guy gone whack-0 isassulted by Maryland Treehuggers"(Bambi could not be saved)

I would shoot from the bedroom window. Hey you can even get the wife involved. Hve her tape it from another window. She'll be happy that you are at home.

That's without permission. With permission it doesn't matter.

The tree they end up feeding under is only17 yards from my bedroom window
If you can get them to come 17yrds closer you may be able to say it was self defense!
Ormaby Shoot them just out side your bedroom window, drag them insideand claim it was a home invasion[8D]

Ok Ok let's not resort to name calling and finger poking..NavydeerHunteryou asked a question..you are going to get responses you like and some you don't. First of all I salute you dedication to serve our Country..for that I say many Thanks!

With your ethics and dedication..I can't imagine you taking the easy route, to accomplish a goal.

You would want your neighbors to think of you in this same high regard, A serviceman, A family man..a Hunter.

And not the guy who stuck an arrow equipped with razor bladesinto a deer in the neighborhood only to have it bleed out and die in front of little suzy who was playing in her sandbox next door.

(I guess I'm off the fence)
