Sorry, I haven't been on much the last couple of days, been running around like a chicken with my head cut off, especially getting ready for this dang blasted child support hearing in an hour. [:'(]
I like the cabin idea, wherever we go, I'd like to have the cabins.... if it's a weekend hunt, I may be able to send Cortland to her Nana and Papa's depending on if they are traveling for business. Nana LOVES to have babies, and she will be at the "fun" age then, 9 months or so.
So, anyway, I think it sounds like a ton of fun, the guys can come, they just hang back at camp... of course, you *know* we will come back and they will be hunting on their own. LOL Maybe if we get 'em enough beer it will keep them planted at the camp! I know it sounds crazy, but I know my husband would be leery of sending me off to a hunt with people I've never "met", he definitely would want to be there, and of course, as much as I love my "alone" time, I pretty much enjoy having him around.
I guess that's a good thing, eh?
So, let me know what ya'll come up with, it will definitely HAVE to be on a weekend my oldest two go to their dad's, because finding a sitter for 3 kids is gonna be a long shot! LOL
We will watch over Piebald... I would very much look forward to meeting her, she intrigues me, just very impressed with the daughter you have raised there Treedreamer. The guys would behave themselves knowing there was a yungun' there, and that's a good thing. LOL

Yes I understand BHG, I would like to bring my daughter if this does happen. I want her to see ladies who hunt. I have no problem meeting or talking to your husband, I would do the same. Does he do dishes?
I have an Alaskan Guide Tent I can do all the cooking in, if davemill comes It would be great, I do not need to hunt. As long as it is not during the rut, I would love to cook for you girls. I would love for my daughter to see you ladies hunt!!

I'm thinking it would be during bow season, October sometime??? I don't think many of us want to stray far from our own hunting lands during the rut, seeing as how we know the area and what is there to run.
How old is your daughter? I wouldn't mind, and since most of these women on here are moms, I doubt any of us would.
He can do dishes, he can cook... he'd be a good addition to the "fan club".
Plus, I know he'd enjoy sitting around a campfire with a bunch of hunters, swapping stories.

I would love to go. It would be a lot of fun. My dad doesn't have a problem with me going alone but he wants to know if he can come too, just to be there with me.

BHG, of course you hubby can join in the draggin'. lol
ghemry, bring the little darlin'!! We'dlove to have her join in the fun!
I think early bow season would be a good time to get together. As BHG mentioned, a weekend would probably be best for everyone, time wise and work wise. Maybe we can shoot for a 3 day weekend, if that's not too much for everyone. I'd really like for everyone to get a shot at a deer. That early, as you all know, the deer really aren't spooky, so everyone should have a good chance of getting one.
Fieldmouse, Davidmil, ghemry, if ya'll have women folk, by all means bring them too!
Now, does anyone have any objections to:
1.Coming to Indiana for this shindig?
2. Hunting public land and staying at a campground?
As far as the cabins go, each onehas 4 bunks and a loft, they also include electricity. I believe you can have them heated, but I think it costs extra. I'll check into that. If they can't be heated, I'll bring space heaters. They also have a fire ring outside and pit toilets and waterjust across the lane.
I think we should list who snores, so that group can stay in the same cabin! lol
I don't know about you guys, but I am EXCITED about this!!!!
We're gonna have a deer-whackin, hootenanny of a good time!!

Yeeeeehaw!!! I would love to meet everyone that can make it.... now I just hope it works out for me! LOL
I should be able to swing it...
It sounds fun, I like the idea of the Indiana public land with the cabins... I think it's within decent driving range for most of us. I have actually never hunted public land. The plan is to hunt public land in Michigan this year, but I'm not sure if we will be able to or not...
