Last monday i was bowhunting on my private property. about 10am nothing had been happening so i made a couple doe bleats. a few seconds later i here branches breaking behind me. i slowly stand up and turn around. the deer is about 40yrds behind me in the thick brush so i can't see him. i wait a few minutes and dont hear anything so i give him a grunt and hear him moving a little closer. i still cant see him so i wait a few minutes and give another bleat and a grunt. as soon as i made the grunt i could hear him start rubbing trees with his rack and pushing around some brush. when all this is happening i am thinking to myself that this is the best bowhunting experience i have ever had. this whole episode had been going on for about 20minutes when i here another branch break and something else coming towards me from the other direction. i turned my head just enough to see what else was coming in thinking it might be another dominant buck and what do i see. blaze orange. a rifle hunter who was trespassing on my property come walking up about 30yrds from my stand without a clue anything was going on. the property isnt posted because this has never been a problem. next year it will be. what a bummer. this is the closest i have been to having a big buck come into bow range. it is one thing to screw a chance for youself but when someone else does it...ouch

its a shame Mn, but it used to happen to us often. There was a back way into the land I hunted, very little used road and they just never seemed to care. The early season was the best for us due to them coming around during the rut almost timing it perfectly. Fish and game never bothered with them, about ticked us off!

i am getting used to the vikings letting me down, that does not suprise me anymore.
as far as giving the guy hell, i wanted to yell at him so bad and tell him to get the *#@% off my property i didnt because i never heard the deer leave so i thought it might still be standing in the cover waiting for the other hunter to pass. never did see the deer again.
