Default The "Can" too soon?

This question is mainly aimed at Pa hunters. I realize the rut isn't until the 1st & 2nd week of Nov. but does anyone think the "can" could be used now, with results? The reason I ask is because today I saw an 8pt that looked like he was on a mission as apposed to feeding.I've heard of guys seeing scrapes already and some rubs are around as well.
I was thinking that if I had my "can" I could have maybe gotten him to come my way. What do you guys think about this?

I wasn't until this morning.. Used the can and two minutes later had three does running up a hill looking all around.. I think it actually worked pretty well, or maybe it was wierd luck.. But it seemed to work..

Probably not luck...........if you have ever heard a fawn bleat you will know that the "can" isn't too far off that sound.........I can see how a couple momma's would be nervous in the early season if they heard that. In a few weeks when mom starts thinking about the impending breeding season the fawn bleats will fall on deaf ears..........but for early season they are still looking out for those little buggers.

I love the "can". Definately the call I have seen the most reaction from deer of both sexes........by far.

"The Can" is nothing more than a contact call, you can use it year round. You can also imitate it on any adjustable call if you know what your doing. I use The Deer Flute from River Valley.
