I have only gotten the chance to get out twice, a morning and evening hunt. I saw does both times but not in bow range, although I did have a yote in bow range. He never saw the Muzzy comming. Temps have been pretty cool here in Southern Indiana we might have a true fall season this year. Can't wait until Saturday morning....

Two nights ago I was in my stand in a woodlot and had a buttonbuck feeding right under my tree for 30 minutes or so. Same evening I had a basket racked 8 point walk about 20 yards behind me in the brush. He's safe in my book anyway, clearly not what I'm after!

Yesterday morning I get in another stand in the same woodlot and I climb to my platform in the predawn dark, and I start hearing two deer walking directly towards my tree. Using my binoculars I notice that they are the same two deer, the buttonbuck and the basket racked 8 pointer. They just fed on acorns all around my area for 20 minutes or so then left.

Still haven't seen a really nice shooter but I'll remain vigilant!! Good luck!

I have been out two mornings and one evening so far. I have seen one doe with two youngins, but nothing else. By the way, I shot at the doe and missed a relatively easy shot, as I think she jumped the string and or I just missed. Not too bumed by missing her though, as that was opener weekend and still a lot of season to go.

I have been out only twice, both in the evening.Temps have been quite cool, and it has been really windy so far. The first night i saw nothing, but last nite saw a 120-130 in buck, didnt quite get a shot off tho, as he winded me.

I just spent 3 days in So. Il. The days were real quiet with the heat, but right at 6pm, I was surrounded by deer. The does did'nt present any shots, but I could have taken several spikes and forks but passed. Saw one nice shooter the last day but he would'nt cooperate! I'LL BE BACK
