Default The Beast is Dead

Last year I had this buck around my property and never got a shot at him. I was excited when I got another photo of him this year, only to find out last week he was hit by a car. I've talked to enough people with the same story to verify this deer. It seems every year a week or 2 before the season at least one of the mature buck in my area gets it. I thought they were smart.

That sure is a bummer, but at least he lived long enough to pass on his genes to his offspring.

That's too bad. I wonder if any deer actually just die of old age?
