I was reading on another thread about what time to take off in a differant state.
Where are you getting the info to plan what day the chasing phase will be?
Any help will be helpful. I always just hunted

Charlie Alsheimer writesarticles for Deer & Deer Hunting magazine. His predictions for the rut are usually dead nuts on the money. This year he is saying take the 6-10th off from work...I know I will.

Personally, I'd rather hunt pre-rut when you can still pattern deer and bucks are following/chasing. Hunting the actual rut is an active period, but is a crap shoot as to where they are going to be.
I foget who said it but I hear it on TV. "Don't hunt where they are, hunt where they are going to be". Makes a lot of sense to me and knowing where they are going to be is tough during the rut.
