Dude, you didn't offend me in the least. You simply stated you didn't for the life of you know why anyone would shoot a little young buck, and I answered. If you don't wanna shoot small bucks, so be it. I've got no problem w/ that in the least, but all I ask in return is that no one else impose their standards on me.

Jelen is no Troll, in case you don't realize, he's wolfen68 and has been around as long as anyone and he puts his money where his mouth is, what was the last buck he shot, pushing 200"'s or something.

Thanks for the info Rob, didn't know it was wolfen. Still think it's rediculous to insult people because they don't hunt they way you do. I've killed a few nice bucks, I wonder how many I need before I can start telling people how to hunt?:eek:

And??..........I would guess that the majority of guys on this board have over 200" of antlers on the ground over the last 2-3 years ( I do, and I shoot everything I see). I put a 9 iron in the hole from 137 two years ago.......does that make me a special golfer?

What a strange thing to say for someone who is asking others to help make it EASIER for him to hunt. All these big-bad super hunters would be in favor of as many little bucks getting killed as possible..........so that prized big racked trophy would be even more rare and difficult to find and kill. That is, if they were telling the truth...........clearly they are not because every effort they make is to try and make killing big bucks EASIER.

It has been proven on this very site that the ONLY thing required to see and kill bigger bucks more often is to not shoot them. Same guys, same gear, same skill level.........bigger bucks on the wall. The notion that skill is a major factor when the bigger bucks are plentiful is a joke.

I guess the Drive-Thru society we have created just isn't willing to put in the time and effort required to kill a big buck anymore........they want to just set up trail cams and check their cell phones for pictures with time stamps on them and then jump in the woods for an hour when they know the deer are coming..............then tell everyone what a great hunter they are :eek:

This is another weird notion. I have been here awhile and I can honestly say I don't think I have EVER seen a thread started to complain that there are only small bucks around. Where do you guys create these myths from??...........the only whining year in and year out is by the QDM crowd.

Telling other hunters what to shoot and what not to shoot with their tags is just plain stupid and selfish..........but most of all it is a TERRIBLE way to try and get kids interested in hunting. Nothing like taking a kid out for 8 hours and telling him he shouldn't shoot any of the deer he sees because they aren't "good enough"

Must be nice to live in your own little world where you get to crown yourself King:eek: I personally like to hold out for mature bucks, and use does for the freezer, the difference is I don't insult people who do things differently.

I don't recall crowning myself King, living in my own little world or insulting people... until now ... If you were to pull your head out... you could find your way out of the garage and attempt to hunt a mature buck. If you ever do get one, maybe we'll have something more in common and be able to have a discussion on an even level. Good luck.;)

I'm gonna let 'em grow too, BTW.
Not only are their horns so pretty and mystifying,
but they weigh a ton and fill the freezer in one shot.
Who wants to pay the butcher 5 times a year.
Mine charges as much for a dink as for a bruiser.
There, another reason to "let 'em grow".
But do what you want, it's a free country, for the time being, anyway.

Funny how such a topic can set off page upon page of angry posts. Must be some guilt underlying some of these posts. Why the anger? Quite honestly...I sincerely believe I am avoice of a larger voice of what is right and what is the best thing for ALL of us who hunt deer. It's not MY idea...it is the recommendation of the most highly trained, most astute, most educated, and most experienced of deer scientists in North America!!!!!!

The politicians that make up the majority of hunting regualtions in this country are whores of the herd. They only look at the money...if idiots are buying "unlimited"amounts of buck tags then why would theyconsider cutting revenue by limiting them? Tell me a single state that has "state regulations" that are "mostly" in line with the scientific recommendations of that state's biologists. Ain't happenin'! So wherein does the responsibility lie for the true management of the game we all so endear? It lies within ourselves!

So to say that "it's legal" jeopardizes the future of the very sport we enjoy. It's 100% b.s.! And in closing...Atlastman is simply...well...although extremely long winded and loud...he is just plain simply simple.

Good luck to everyone upon whatever avenue you may conciously choose to "hunt deer". Shoot a doe, let 'em go and let 'em grow...and in the end you will know!
