Idiots?

Matt, that was a very good reading post. But I do have a comment:
<BLOCKQUOTE id=quotequote:
I've never had to track a deer more than roughly 100 yards even on the poorly hit animals. Why? I knew how much time to give, what to do and when to do it. And I had a serious working knowledge of this before I put myself in the position of "OK now what?"

I don't believe that these were poorly hit animals. Granted, you gave them time to expire and such, but not all animals will lay down right away (within 100 yards). Just curious, have you ever tracked a single lunged animal?
C903, I also, very much enjoyed your post. You brought up some very good points.

It happens to us all! I put a bad hit on a VERY ice buck a week and a half ago, must have glanced a twig, only got a couple inches of penetration on a 17 yd quartering away shot. Spent 3 days searching and nothing. With the poor penetration I'm fairly certain he will survive unless the shotgunners get him this weekend. It sucks but its a fact of life for bowhunters,do it long enough you will lose a deer or two.

Dog,
"Anyway, I will agree with Matt in one aspect. I have never seen a well shot deer near cover travel more than 100-150 yds. Does anyone else have experiences to support or debunk my theory."
