HAS ANYONE HERE EVER USE VANILLA EXTRACT TO COVER UP UR SCENT BEFORE.. I HAVE AND FOUD THAT IT WORKS.. IT EVEN BRINGS IN THE DEER. THE ONE THING I LIKE MOST ABOUT IT IS THAT IT'S LOW COST. BEFORE I GO OUT IT THE BUST I'D RUB IT ONTO MY CLOTHES AND GEAR. AND THEN I'M READY.. WHEN I GET TO MY FAVORATE SPOT I POUR SOME ONTO THE GROUND HERE AND THERE AND WATCH THE ACTION THAT HAPPENS.. JUST LIKE IF U WANT MOOSE TO COME TO U I FOUND THAT THEY LIKE THE SMELL OF FRESH WOOD SHAVINGS

Welcome to the board,
I have used Vanilla extract in a similar fashion although I do not like to have it on me or near me. I have seen deer come in and check it out. It is a better attracting scent than a cover scent - in my opinion.

If the weather turns really rotten - I pull out the vanilla extract and pour it on the ground at the waterwhole nearest where I was treestand hunting. It works as an attractant for ground hunting. In foul icy weather - I stay out of trees and go to plan B - ground hunt. Also, it works to stop a deer for a trail cam shot.

I have also heard that it works well. A guy I met one time told me he mixes vanilla extract with carrots, and swwet potatoes, and makes a sort of mash that he puts out in barrels and he swears by it.
