How would you handle it... poll...kinda
Lets say that you have had sighting of a monsterous world class whitetail in your area...
1st - who would you tell (if anyone)
2nd - How would you react/ pursue
3rd- how wuld you try to protect this deer/ keep him on your property
just curious because my family has one roaming around and its no secret any more...

1-No
2-Relentlessly
3-Tough. In NC.....I'd make sure I spoke to his stomach (baiting is legal, here). Second plan of attack woud be to speak to his pursuit of does. I've had people tell me that they never see bucks around bait......only does. I always ask if they've ever HEARD or better "bait".
Good luck to you.
Jeff

1. I've told a lot of people because there is about 300,000 acres that fits that description of public land.
2. Constantly
3. There is nothing I can do, except sit back and watch.

1.What Deer?
2.I would hunt a lot in the rut
3.I can not, unless I put a fence up, hmmmm, but I would try to keep as many doe's asI could in my area. Only thing I know draws in a smart old buck us a hot doe. Works everytime!!!

1. In the words of Moulder...Trust no one.
2. Hunt everyday you can, but hunt smart. Play the wind currents, don't make rookie mistakes. One bad hunt and he can leave ya forever.
3. Find the Major food source. I can bait with protein feed and corn here, but when the Acorns start to drop the deer vanish from my feed to the mast crop and they stay there till it's gone. And as so the does go....so do the bucks.
And lastly
