Well I read this thread this year and got a picture that I can actually look at and feel proud about rather thanthe kind where the deer are hanging in the garage or half skinned. It's also my first one with the bow. I was close to home so while I was waiting for it to expire i changed out of my hunting clothes. I should've had em on for the picture but oh well I'll get that next time. I'm grateful for this thread.

Does anyone think that aquality photo is neccesary to complete a hunt? I never hunt with other people, never carry a camera, and my wife usually takes the pictures of my deer when I am cleaning it, when I get home, does that make it a degrading photo? I think that all of the photos posted are great, each hunter that posted will have that photo to remember their hunt and share it with others, but what if we dont take pictures like that, are the hunts not as memerable?

I dont think it is necessary to complete a hunt. I do however belive that for some people it is one of the only ways to capture that memory, and a good looking photo is one of the best ways to relive that hunt and tell stories.

I agree, I wish I had some different pictures of some of the deer I have taken. I now take a digital camera with me almost whenever I hunt. It's great to have the pictures in the surroundings of where you took him/her. I guess I have not been taking pics of does, but I may start doing that also. At our shack we also have been keeping a photo album with pictures of camp and hunting "things" and not just kills. It'e nice to go back and look through the album to see old friends and family and how they have changed. I never remember saying "I wish we did not take so many pictures!", Instead it's "I wish we took more pictures, or better pictures".
Good Luck everyone!

I think everyone has their own way of "remembering" their hunts and kills.
I personally enjoy getting pics of all the deer I shoot. You never forget the bucks with the horn collection, but I just like to keep all kills documented. Esp. doe kills. Most people seem to take them for granted.
I don't think there is anything wrong with not taking pics or taking them when they are in the truck or hanging if that is all you can get.
I try to get the nicest pics as possible personally.

Ok, here's one from earlier this year. I thought I had everything cleaned up, and the tongue was poked back in, but must have popped out when I picked her up.
