Default food sources getting ripe

our bow season begins oct 1st, so i have been doing alot of walking and looking hoping to find acorns and persimmons.i found both and even got up two deer bedding at a small pond close to a persimmon tree that was loaded.i can hardly wait to get up a tree.

I have a stand set by a persimmons grove and a small food plot of wheat and oats,,our persimmons won't be ready till late oct. season opens oct.1 and I can't wait either.....it was so hot this summer the acorns did'nt do to good so it sould get them up and moving around feeding in our area

There are very few white oaks with nuts here this year. Last year they had a bumper crop, this year nothing.. the black oaks have some acorns and are already dropping, probably will be gone by the time season starts though. Sure hope to find a good white oak, it will be a hot spot this year.

Lots of acorns this year up in Massachusetts....I have a tree all picked out on the edge of a group of trees...I'm ready to rock!
