Viking: I'm no expert, but I read a lot of bowhunting magazines. It seems as if for every "expert" who says you absolutely must carry a pee bottle, there's another that says he whizzes out of the tree with no bad effects.
Never trust a bow under 40 (inches).

I "freshened" a scrape last week and saw that it was "torn up" the next time I went back. I've watched does lick the leaves where I've "been." I don't think a bottle is necessary.

On opening day this year I peed out of my stand and shot a doe 30 minutes later. IMO urine is not alarming to deer, but sweat is and that is what gets us busted.

i take one every time and use it. but all the reading that i do makes it sound like it is no big deal. my thought is that if i carry it out it deffinatly wont be a big deal.

Not since last year. I had a nice 8 point walk 5 feet from the base of my tree, where I had just peed 30-45 minutes earlier. he never
even acted suspicious. that's why i don't worry carryin a urnial anymore.

If you carry a p bottle, I figured out something that works better and doesn't take up any space or make noise. A good quality 1 gallon freezer bag with a zip liner that closes securely. You can open it the correct amount, varies with the individual I guess, insert the ol p'er and do your business. Then you zip it back up and store it. The good ones won't leak. It works great in the stand and you can just drop it to the ground or place in on your foot platform until time to leave. For you guys that's a little dense, I'm not talking about a sandwich bag with a fold over top, I'm talking about a zip lock top. A gallon is plenty big, you could probably get back with a quart or two quart bag.
