RE: Coyote
Like Rob, I have seen deer and coyotes come face to face in a field. In my case the doe actually chased the coyote away. Now, if there were deep snow I'm thinking the doe wouldn't stand a chance. I've seen a doe in the middle of the winter with a the top of a hind quarter pretty much eaten awayand she was still on her feet, in shock, but still mobile.

RE: Coyote
Drury's have on film a monster buck being pushed by two yotes out of a field into a ravine where a 3rd yote was waiting, when the buck hit the gut of the ravine, the 3 were on him and tore him apart.
Thanks all about my yote. |
RE: Coyote
Update on the yote. I went out and did some scouting for a possible ambush point and found the den where he is holed up in. Should I set up an ambush point near the den or simply set a trap right there and hope he takes to the trap? I sure would love to stick an arrow in that mangy dog, though.

RE: Coyote
I've heard, (I don't know) that once a coyote feels his den has been found, ie human scent, they will move on. Can anyone elaborate on this?
