RE: Season Opener
Here in NJ we started Saturday, Sept 9th, but I had a parade to march in and it was a bit on the warmer side so I did not make it out. I will either take Friday off from work or go out Saturday morning or afternoon depending on the weather.

RE: Season Opener
Georgia is Sept 9th, and by god I was out there! It is public land. I did not score, but saw a couple of does while in my stand at about 5pm. They were out of bow range. Then a little later another one saw me move and started snorting at me. I had heard it and it sounded like it was in front of me so I positioned my bow. Unfortunately, it was off to my side and saw me.
After looking around the next day where I saw the does I found a better spot where it looks like they are coming out of the thick stuff. I will try again next weekend.
Even though it is damn hot here, I think early season is the best time to get a doe or spike. Once gun season opens they dont come out as much on public land.
Anyway, have not taken my first deer with a bow yet.. but I think this is the year. My shooting has improved a lot this year.
Good luck
