I hunted Fri. and Sat. in the wind but the wind/rain combination kept me home this morning. I hunt in an area that well protected from south winds so the winds havn't really bothered me all that much...

I hunted the wind on Sat. and had an AWESOME DAY! (Read "AWESOME DAY&quot Today,Sun., I hunted the wind/rain and didn't see a damn thing. I am gonna go back out tonight and I hope this wind dies a bit for this evening.

I was out yesterday and picked the biggest oak tree my climber could handle. I had to go up around 22 ft to get the platform level. Sitting I could feel the tree swaying as I sat there. I stood up when a doe came in, and felt like I was going to fall out of the stand. It was so unstable, even leaning out against my harness, I couldn't hold steady enough. So I passed the shot up. What a difference between sitting & standing. The deer are too edgy and nervous in high winds. I saw very little action Friday & Saturday. I did pass a nice 4 point on Friday that will be a bruiser, if he lives long enough. Hopefully the winds will die as it cools off this week. Good hunting in Ohio all.

Phil.
