Default Elk are falling

I just spent almost the first whole week of elk season in the mountains. I helped 2 other guys get their elk. I passed on several bulls myself until I finally called "the one " in. I have been after this bull for the past 5 years. I had him coming into the clearing at 22 yards, I was at full draw and my "buddy" blew the deal on me and decided to take a bad shot on him. Luckily he missed and will be there when I get back, only much the wiser. I think that I may be able to get another crack at him come the third week, and he gets a little dumber as the rut kicks in harder. I passed on a 5 point, several spikes, and numerous cows on the hunt. I got plenty of meat from these two elk, and a tag left in my pocket still. It is killing me to get into the woods............. The guy with the spike just got his first elk with a low hanging transmission.

Sounds like a great time. Good luck on "your bull" in a couple of weeks.
