Cold Weather Gear
I froze my butt off last year in my stand. I was thinking about buying some heated clothes, gloves and socks, and I was wondering if anyone has any experiance with Gerbings products. They are pretty expensive though and I dont want to invest like $400 without getting some type of feedback.
By the way I have been lurking here for about 2 years and finally decided to post.

For stand huntingin temps well below freezing:
Base layer: Microfleece longjohns
Mid layers: heavy wool shirt andwool or fleece vest
Outer layers: KOM wool jacket, heavy wool surplus pants, fleece neck gaiter, heavythinsulate watch cap, and glove-mitts
For stand hunting in brutalzero/minus-zerotemps (rarely), I'll add loose polarfleece pants, apolarfleece jacket, and a fleece balaclava to the works.
For short after work hunts and especially for stillhunting, I wear much less or I'd sweat to death!

Layer it and use wicking undies. Along with that I'd use something like smart wool undies, more wool, and balaclavas, gloves of the right materials in low bulk layers, like liners and light wool glovees. Your head and feet are the most important. Layer it and don't sweat going in. You may even want to take off a couple layers to get to your stand.
