This weekend was opening day of bow season and dove season here in
so. KY...so ihunted this morning and saw more fawns than i have EVER seen... I saw atleast 10.. then i was dove hunting in the afternooon. i was in the middle of a field with a group if guys and about 10-15 fawns where coming out from evrywhere (like 65 yrds away while where talkin normal and shootin at dove!!!?) They where not even phased. theyfed and just worked there way back into the woods.. I thought it was pretty wild.. Any resoning behind it or did the bucks just get there jobs done? lol

The increase in the number of fawns is due to a very good mast crop last year and mild winter. I am on the VA/KY state line and hunt both states. There is a bumper crop of fawns this year in our area also.

In Maryland dove season starts 2 weeks before opening day of bow season. I was out while the tropical storm Ernrsto was driving through and I went out yesterday, Limited out both days, was awesome.
